Industry Upgrading Driven by Global Value Chain:A Case Study of China's Industrial Sector

The global value chain causing " dual cluster" separates forward and backward linkages,which may weaken industrial upgrading.By employing the econometric model with additional control variables and making use of the panel data of China's 8 industries during 1992~2003,this paper aims to study the effect of global value chain mode.The result shows that the global value chain driving mode has apparently weakened technology spillover effect.It also means that the global value chain causing production function expansion does not necessarily form advanced elements advantage,and the balanced growth path of global value chain and domestic market is the acceptability policy to realize industry upgrading.
