Development and Application of Design System for Automobile Field of View Based on UG Platform

The quality of automobile field of view directly affects riding comfort and operational convenience, which is an important part in process of automobile design. The basic principles of design and check about the front visual field, blind area of A pillars and the rear visual field were discussed in this paper. Based on the request of SAE and national standard (GB), using UG as the graphics support environment and applying the tools of Visual C++ and UG/Open API, the design system of automobile field of view was developed, and some examples were used to verify the feasibility of this system.
