A Study on the Control Parameters of Electric Power Steering System

A mechanics model of electric power steering (EPS) is set up in this paper. With the classic theory, the author analyzed the effects of the proportional and derivative coefficients to the assist characteristics of the system. ITAE type optimizing object function was established, and simplex algorithm was used to optimize the control parameters. Comparison between the simulating result of time response and frequency response shows the method is effective.
