Testing and Analysis on Stiffness and Strength of Light Truck BIW

With the new hybrid and load-style body-in-white developed by an automaker, a body-in-white stiffness and strength test measurement system was established. Bending and twisting conditions were tested by the system, through which the deformation status of the body-in-white were obtained in the case of bending and twisting, also the stress distribution of the measurement points were obtained. The test results show that the constraint and loading method of the measurement system are rational, leading to good reproducibility of test results. The test data can be used as the reference to do the analysis of benchmarking as well as to improve the design.
