The peel pigmentation in relation to pigment content of litchi

During the period of the fruit growth and development,the contents of photosynthetic pigments,anthocyanidin and the total soluble sugar,the total acid in carpel were detected.The changes and the discrepancy in different sites of peel were analyzed.The results were as fallows.The main tendency of the photosynthetic pigments dropped.The contents decreased from 0.15mg·g-1,0.17mg·g-1,and 0.13mg·g-1,to 0.06mg·g-1,0.05mg·g-1,and 0.04mg·g-1,respectively in top,mid section and bottom.The main tendency of the anthocyaindin increased.The contents increased from 0.005mg·g-1,0.006mg·g-1,and 0.005mg·g-1,to 0.020mg·g-1,0.021mg·g-1,and 0.023mg·g1,respectively in top,mcdsection and bottom.The fluctuation curves of the total soluble sugar and the total acid in peel were W-shaped.The carotenoidin distributed equally in peel.The contents of anthocyaindin and the total soluble sugar decreased from bottom to top and were 14.20%,12.56% and 9.56% respectively.The contents of chlorophill were the contrary.No significant difference of total acid was observed in different sites of peel.The pigmentation change was attributed to the decrease of photosynthetic pigments and the increase of anthocyaindin.The pigmentation order was chiefly caused by the asymmetry distribution of chlorophyll and anthocyaindin in carpel other than carotenioidin.
