Analysis of Vertical Landscape Pattern of Soil Erosion in Karst Mountainous Area

The soil erosion effect on landscape pattern and its variation is one of the important subjects in the research of soil erosion. This paper was based on GIS and RS technology and on the basis of classification of soil erosion grades. Patch fractal dimension,the largest patch index and area percentage index of landscape were selected to,study landscape spatial pattern with different soil erosion grades in vertical dimension. The relationship between landscape pattern and soil and water loss process was investigated in order to provide scientific basis for soil erosion control. The results showed that,in the vertical dimension range,the soil erosion landscape had obvious characteristics of stratification. Erosion level gradually enhanced from low altitude to high altitude.,The patch fractal dimension was low and the plaque was stable in low altitude and high altitude areas The patch fractal dimension was high in the middle elevation while the plaque was instable due to intensive human activities. Erosion level decreased during altitude between 1000-1100 m while human activity weakened. At the top of the mountains,slight,light,strong,and severe erosion landscape accounting for the majority of distribution accompanied by a large area of slight to mild erosion landscape. Soil erosion landscape was mainly affected by the natural environment.
