Progress of RNA Interferenceon Insect Gene Function

RNA interference( RNAi) is a phenomenon in which small-molecule dsRNA causes sequence-specific degradation of the target gene mRNA,resulting in gene silencing or down-regulated expression of target gene.RNAi plays a crucial role in studying the functions of relative genes of important physiological enzymes.This paper mainly reviewsdifferent methods of RNAi,their advantages and disadvantages,and the factors affecting RNAi efficiency.The differences of silencing effects of different RNAi methods on insect functional genes were compared,and the progress in insect gene function were summarized.
