The mechanism of acupuncture and moxbustion in treatment of peripheral facial hemiplegia(PFH)and investigation of its curative effects on PFH were studied electroneurophysiologically. The electroneurophysiological changes of 31 patients with PFH before and after the treatment of acupuncture and moxbustion were detected respectively. Results:The clincal effective rate in all 31 patients was 100%,and to different extents all electroneurophysiological tagets taken were improved significantly with statistic differences. Conclusions:Electroneurophysiological examination on the patients with PFH before and after the treatment of acupuncture and moxbustion can help both determine the degree of nervous impairment and observe the efficacy and calculate its prognosis, which may povide useful basis for diagnosis and therapy clinically.
