Biocompatibility for a New Bone Repair Material of PDLLA/HA/DBM

To evaluate the biocompatibility of the composite of D,L-polylactic acid (PDLLA), hydroxyapatite (HA) and decalcified bone matrix(DBM), a new bone repair material prepared by suspending solution dispersing and blending technique. The experiments on acute toxicity,pyrogen,hemolysis and implantation into muscles in rabbits were administered according to 《Technical Evaluation Standards of Biomedical Materials and Medical Instruments》 promulgated by Chinese Board of Health, and PET was applied to test the affect of composite on the metabolism of glucose. The results of all experiments corresponded with the standards. PDLLA/HA/DBM could be biodegradated and replaced by chondral or osseous tissues after implantation into muscles of rabbits. The composite of PDLLA/HA/DBM prepared by this technique possesses excellent biocompatibility.
