The Application of Teflon Graft in Microvascular Decompression in Neurosurgery

To study the application of Teflon graft in microvascular decompression in neurosurgery. The Teflon grafts were used in 75 cases of microvascular decompression operations for treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm. The situation of intracranial Teflon grafts were examined in 21 cases of second operations for the recurrent cases. The total effective rate was 85.7%. There was no complication and side effect related to Teflon grafts during follow-up period. There was no adhesion or foreign effects of Teflon during the examination in the second operations. The good effects of Teflon grafts were evidently in microvascular decompression operation. The tissue compliance quality of Teflon was exellent. Teflon is a kind of ideal material for graft using in microvascular decompression.
