A Survey on Violence Against Women in Rural Areas

Violence against women has now gradually become a universal health problem,which is often unnoticed and undocumented partly due to its taboonature This article made a survey on violence against married women in Jining city Shandong Province The purposeis to illustrate:1)the frequency of the violence happenings,and 2) the health consequences of violence against women,and 3) the main factors affecting the violence The results show that the average incidence of violence against women is 9 0%,the constitutional ratios of health consequences of violence are bone fracture(0 8%),hemorrhage(1 4%),bruise(22 9%) and no symptom(74 9%) The main reasons leading to violence involve education degree of both sides,the family expenditure,and the status of women in families The suggestions are:1)to promote people's culture quality and popularize law education;and 2)to improve and stabilize economic status of family by making more money and spending reasonably;and 3) to emphasize community participation and multi-department intervention
