A DISCUSSION ON THE MECHANISM OF ALUMINIUM INTERFERENCE IN DETERMINATION OF MAGNESIUM BY FLAME ATOM ABSORPTION

Liu Dong(Chemistry Department of Shandong University) Du Ming (Department of Chemistry)
By the affections of the evaporation rate of impurities with the qualities of melting substances, the interference of aluminium in determination of Mg by flame atom absorption and inhibition of Lathanum are explained. The conclusion is that all hlgh boiling-point oxides can inhibit the interference of Al and it is confirmed by experiment.
