Equation of motion for overland flow considering capillary force

Capillary force is a major force that needs be considered in calculation of overland flow.In this paper,first,equivalent resistance of uniform flow under surface waves is calculated from the water wave theory.Second,the equation of motion for steady uniform overland flow is derived with consideration of capillary forces,bottom shear stress under wave-current interaction,raindrop hitting force,and gravity.On the assumption of gradual variation of flow depth along the direction of surface wave propagation,the influence of precipitation on the waves can be neglected,and a differential expression of energy conservation of overland flow considering precipitation and infiltration is established and discussed.This study would provide a basis for experimental study and theoretical analysis of overland flow.
