Synthesis and fluorescence properties of ZnO/CdS quantum dots

ZnO/CdS quantum dots(QDs) were synthesized via sol-gel route and different colors of quantum dots were prepared by the adjusting the ratio of various precursors,These ZnO / CdS quantum dots′ color can be continuously adjusted and its excitation peak is at 450-460 nm,emission peak is at about 600 nm,the fluorescence can composite with blue light and get the warm white light and greatly improve the color of white LEDs,indicating that they have potential applications for warm white light emitting diodes.
