Cluster Analysis of 7 Ecotypes in Asian Cultivated Rice

Variation of Esterase and Peroxidase isozyme and grade difference of grain gelatinization temperature ware examined among 56 varieties involing 7 ecotypes from Asia. By ward method cluster analysis the result showed that the varieties belonged to two types. Type I included stx groups, which contained varieties of Aman ecotype and most varieties of Tjere an4 Bulu ecotyes. Type Ⅱ included two groups in which most varieties derived from Boro' Aus and Gundil ecotypes. Four of the groups were identified as Amah, Bulu, Boto and Gundil ecotgpe group which were consisted of most varieties derived from those ecotypes respectively. Varieties of Aus, Tjere and U pland ecotypes nearly distributed in all of the groups.According to the cluster and the distribution of varieties of each ecotype, it might be considered that there were more closely relationships,among Aman, Tjers and Bulu ecotypes.,and among Aus,Boro and Gundil ecotypes,
