The Application of Model Reference Adaptive Control in Synchronous Systems

Synchronous control systems such as the hydraulic screw-down sy-stem in cold rolling mills have been widely used.In this paper,a new ModelReference Adaptive System(MRAC)controlled by a computer is devised fora hydraulic synchronous system.An improvement is made on the commonadaptive control type of Ichikawa control structure to remedy some of itsshortcomings.A theoretical analysis is made to reveal why the new structurehas better results than the conventional Ichikawa structure.The simulationand the real-time control results show that the new synchronous revisedstructure gives much better performance.Futhermore,the sampling periodof the control system has been limited to 2ms.It reaches an advanced levelamong the existing adaptive control systems.
