New Method of Designing the Loaded-Line Phase Shifter with Small Phase Shift

This paper presented a new method of designing the microstrip loaded line phase shifter. By constructing a papilionaceous loaded line phase shifter, it can implement small phase shift (22.5°,11.25°,5.63°,…) that can not be realized with the traditional methods. This type of phase shifter can be used as components of the lowcost and highprecision phased microstrip antenna array of satellite mobile communication system. The measured results of the developed prototype show that this new design method is correct and feasible.
