Absorbing Hydrogen Characteristic of Liquid State ZL205A High Strength Aluminum Alloy

Based on Sievert's law, a computer aided analysis system used in measuring hydrogen quantity absorbed in liquid state aluminum alloy was developed. The absorbing hydrogen characteristic of liquid ZL205A aluminum alloys was studied. The experimental results show that the liquid temperature and the time contacting the liquid with water vapour in atmosphere are two important factors. The absorbed hydrogen quantity in liquid aluminum alloy and the porosity area ratio on test block increase with raising of the two factors. It is also verified that this measuring system has a good measuring precision and can be used in production workshop.
