Transient Power Quality Disturbance Signal Analysis Based on the Prony Method

A decomposition algorithm of analytic signal based on the Prony method was presented according to the power quality signal characteristic. This method combines the exponential transform in time-frequency domain with the description of transient signal characteristic. The Prony analysis method can estimate all kinds of components characteristic, such as frequency, phase and magnitude, and produce high-accuracy fitting by least-square method. The simulation signal and the practical signal were analyzed respectively. The satisfying results show the Prony method can provide effective and accurate results in the analysis of transient power quality.
