A Wavelet-Based Algorithm for Extracting PD Cluster of Diversiform Features

Multi-resolution signal decomposition(MSD) based on the selection of optimal wavelet is quite a preferable measure, and it is also an illuminative way because the algorithm is adapted in accordance with the feature of the PD(partial discharge) shape. As for the complex equipment there are so many factors, which would contribute to the diversity of PDs, such as the mechanism, location, path of propagation and attenuation. The paper proposed a wavelet-based algorithm for extracting PD cluster of diversiform features more completely, which uses multiple wavelets to analyze the signals respectively and de-redundantly, without any pre-known information about the target PDs. The algorthm was applied to both simulation and real data and its considerable performance was proved.
