Digital Cordless Telephone PHS and Its System Software Design

PHS is a new communication service that combines the latest radio access technology based on digital cordless telephony with the intelligent digital network capabilities. This article describes its radio access method TDMA/TD and radio channel. The software structure is designed according to the layers of communication protocol. In physical layer,transferring of physical frames is implemented; in data link layer, data frames are transferred based on sliding window protocol; and some management functions are implemented in network layer, such as radio management, mobility management and call control. Some main functional modules of these layers are given. Driven by interrupts,the application layer implements various services of telephone and process events according to their priority. PHS has a high ratio of performance/price,and has a good prospect.
