The Husband's Mother: A Complice of the Male World ——One of the Female Images in Chinese Modern Literature

Successful female images add greatly to the achievements of Chinese modern literature. From a viewpoint of culture, the female images in modern literature can be classified into two types--the traditional and the modern. The essay is to make am analysis of a special status--the image of the husband's mother in the traditional family,and attempts to dig out both the cultural and historical roots for the justification of such “ privilege".
