Cotyledon explants of Phaseolus angularis were cultured on MS media supplemented with different combinations of auxins and cytokinin, a lot of callus were successfully obtained from one of these MS media: MS-1 (MS+1.0mg/1 Zeatin+ 500mg/1 LH). After transfering these calli onto the redifferentiation medium, MS-5 (MS+2.0mg/1 6-BA+1.0mg/1 KT+0.5mg/1 NAA+500mg/1 LH), several shoots appeared and grew vigorously. Four complete plantlets were finally obtained by further transfering the shoots onto the rooting medium(500mg/1 LH), So far this is a first report about the plantlet regenerated from the cotyledon culture of Phaseolus angularis.
