Study on the Removal of Formaldehyde by Diatomite-Loaded Manganese Dioxide at Room Temperature

Diatomite has superior adsorption properties,it can absorb indoor formaldehyde and other harmful gases.But the formaldehyde can be adsorbed instead of decomposed,which easily leads to indoor secondary pollution.With diatomite as the main raw material,the formaldehyde removal performance of pure diatomite and diatomite-loaded manganese dioxide at room temperature were studied.The research results showed that the adsorption amount of formaldehyde in pure diatomite increased rapidly at the initial stage and tended to be gentle after a certain time.To diatomite-loaded manganese dioxide,the formaldehyde absorption gradually increased with the increase of the mass ratio of MnO_2 to diatomite,after reaching the maximum value,then decreased slowly.
