DETECTION OF THROMBIN INHIBITORS IN NEONATES

Three thrombin inhibitors, α_1AT, α_2M and AT-Ⅲ, in neonatal period were measured. Their levels were 2.834±0.551g/L, 4.470±1.056g/L and 0.195±0.053g/L respectively (with activities 43.5±12.3%). No significant difference was found between two sexes. In postnatal day (PD) 1 to 2, α_1AT showed a higher level than the others, and decreased in following PD, then stabilized after the first week of life (FWOL). α_2M and AT-Ⅲ levels were rather low in the first postnatal days, and increased along with the number of PD, then stabilized after FWOL, however activity of AT-Ⅲ increased after FWOL. The levels of the 3 thrombin inhibitors in neonatal period were different from those in childhood, α_1AT and α_2M levels were 80% of those in childhood. while both concentration and activity of AT-Ⅲ were only 50%.
