The isolates were isolated from beet in Xinjiang. After they are inoculated to beet induce ring spot and line Patters along vein of leave. The ring spot and line patterns is eventually formed into necrosis. The virus particles are icosahedra and about an averege of 28 nm in diameters The virus infecte Chenopod ium amaranticolor .C.quinoa, Tetragenia. expansa, Spinacia oleracea becides beet and induce local necrotic lesions The virus infecte Nicotiana tadacum, N. glotinosa, Petunia hybrida,bean cucumber and tomato without showing symptoms. In sap the virus thermal inactivation point (10 min) is 70℃ Infectivity is retained for 13 days at room temperature about20℃ and for 3 year. in refrigerate dry leaves. The highly purified virus is easily obtained from C. amarant icolor by precipitate with PEG, differential centr ifugat ion, column chromatography with sepharose 2B and sucro,e density gradient centrifugation. Absorption spe-ctrum of the virus is maximum in 260 nm and minimum in 245 nm. protein subunits have M. wt. 54000. Genome nucleic acid of the virus consists of two RNA species. In the double-diffusion test in agar reaction with the virus and tomato black ring virus antiserun, the faintly precitant line is obseved, but it is not seen reaction for the virus and antiserum of taba-eco ring spot virus, tabacco necrotic virus, cucumber mosaic virus. Accor-ding to the above results, we have preliminary detemined that the virus is a strain of TBRV infected beet.
