Studies on A Hami-melon Disease of Leaves wilted

The Hami-melon disease of leaves wilted was a new kind disease in the production of Hami-melon. Generally, the occurrence rate of the disease was 80-100%, disease index was 30-100%. The disease affected the production of Hami-melon seriously. The disease disserved leaves mainly, causing spot and wilt on leaves. The identification showed that the dise-ase was caused by the infection of Alternaria cucumerina. The pathogen overwintered mainly in plant debris, infected host plants by means of con-idia and transmitted by air current. The optimum air temperature for di-sease occuring was 25-33℃ and the latent period was 3-4 days.The dise-ese occured most seriously when rain fall or irrigation was often in from the middle of July to the middle of August. we had studied the host range, the law of disease occuring and devel-oping, the selecting of chemicals and the disease controlling and raised new methods of investigating and ranking. The overall controlling measures which consisted of controlling irrig-etion, spraying fungicides at the preliminary term of the disease had be-en used on large quantity of field and showed evident impact.
