Characteristic of Canopy Apparent Photosynthesis and Its Relation to the Beet Yield in Xinjiang

The growing periodic variation of canopy apparent photosynthesis(CAP)and diurnal variation of CAP,accumulation of dry matter and the ratio variation of leaf/root ratio were studied under different population densties of sugarbeet Xintian 7,Xintian 9 in Xinjiang,and the relationship between CAP rate and the weight of dry matter above ground,under ground,and beet yield.The results showed that CAP rate has significant positive association with beet yield at beet enlarging stage and accumulating stage.It indicated that canopy photosynthesis assimilation amount after beet enlarging stage decided the beet yield.Sustaining the CAP rate of the late growing stage is favourable for raising beet yield.\;
