Pixel Method for RF Echo Signal Generation and Its Realization in Read-Time

It is necessary to generate RF echo signal of 3-D targets within 25 ms in order to satisfy RF echo signal simulation in real-time. Pixel method is a good one that may be applied to the calculation of RF echo signal of 3-D complex targets. The method has advantages of the high accuracy in calculation and the convenience in use, but the time for calculating one RF echo data on a single personal computer is much more than 25 ms. This paper disscusses the development of accelerator of RF echo signal based on ADSP21020 DSP on the basis of the introduction and the analysis of formulae of the pixel method. The simulational result shows that the RF echo signal simulation can be realized in real-time by use of one accelerator for the numbers of pixels less than ten thousands on the computer screen.
