Application of Cross-Spectra Analysis in Experiment of Crossflow Instability

Under the conditions of artificial disturbances, the investigations are performed on a three-dimensional boundary layer of a 45° swept back flat plate, which is subject to cross-flow instability. Initial growth of disturbances is measured by means of hot-wire anemometer. Due to the detected signals with low signal to noise ratio, the coherence function is used to eliminate background noise during data reduction. The initial instability development has been investigated for different modes of artificial disturbances and oncoming wind speeds.
