TEST RESEARCH ON HORIZONTALLY REINFORCED BRICK WALLS ANCHORED AT BAR ENDS

In order to improve the seismic performance of brick walls, especially the deformation ability under strong earthquake, three experiments of reinforced brick walls with different anchorage form at bar ends are carried out. The results show that the deformation ability of the walls with the bar ends anchored in T-type and L-type are respectively l.3 times and 1.1 times higher than that of the wall with no anchored end measure and ultimate forces are increased by 4% ~ 11%Jn practice a steel bar can be welded at the end of the wall instead of J-type end, which is much easier to handle and the constraint effect would be more excellent.
