DETERMINATION OF THE LEAST FAVOURABLE DIRECTION OF GROUND MOTION WITH RESPONSE SPECTRLM ANALYSIS METHOD

Standard for the determination of the least favourable direction of ground motion for bridge is established using the yielding surface function proposed by Bresler. The sectional force (moment) is obtained using the SRSS response analysis method. Then the least favourable direction of ground motion and maximum sectional force are determinted through Molar circle rule. It is important for seismic analysis and design of pier of skew curve bridges and interchange bridge.
