Experimental studies on seismic behavior of concrete perforated brick walls with constructional columns

By the experimental investigation of 4 concrete perforated brick walls with constructional columns under cyclic loading,the failure,deformation,strength,ductility and force-displacement relations of the wall have been analyzed.The tested results indicate that constructional columns in the walls not only increase load-bearing capacity of the walls,but also improve their behavior of deformation and ductility.The influence of height width ratio,axial load and constructional column on the shear strength are discussed.Some recommendations for application of the formula in the Code for Seismic Design of Building(GB5001-2001) are presented.Based on the tested results,a formula for the shear capacity of the walls is proposed.
