Study on small damage detection method based on structural dynamic features

In order to obtain the small damage detection method based on structural dynamic features,steel pipe, steel shell and five stories steel frame structure model tests were carried out. According to the experiment results,it is clear that the diagnostic parameter frequency ratio is effective for uniform and regular structure in structural damage detection,such as bar and cable structures,plate and shell structures,three dimensional framed structure,and so on. Model tests prove that the frequency ratio is effective on detecting the 3mm width transverse crack damage of steel pipe and radial or circular damage of steel shell. In the damage detection test of five stories steel frame structure,the parameter also successfully diagnosed the damage caused by bolts shedding off from the node of model.
