Estimation of P- wave velocity based on shear wave velocity of shallow layer

In this paper,we dealt with curve fitting of the Daqing logging data,conducted the time difference calculation and wave velocity measurement of the surface reflection wave recordws in the deep well pendulum,and got the loose sedimentary strata velocity aspect ratio. The results show that the shallow wave velocity ratio in Songnen Basin and its surrounding areas is about 3. 3 or so. According to the wave velocity ratio,it can be calculaied that the Poisson's ratio is 0. 45. According to the data given by Peter Borman the reflected geological structure should be Cenozoic era and highly similar to that of Songnen Basin. So we can evaluate the P wave velocity according to the shallow layer shear velocity by shallow engineering exploration measurements. For the moving station network established on loose sedimentary strata temporarily,use of the velocity model can improve the positioning results in certain degree.
