FEC can be combined with ARQ to achieve large scalable reliable multicast communication. The NACK implosion is a major problem in receiver-initiated reliable multicast communication when a large number of receivers sends NACK to the sender. The method that receivers send NACK to the sender with a delay time can avoid the NACK implosion. We propose a method to decide the delay time. We divide time equally and use probabilistic method based on exponentially distribution to select the delay time in a segment. By analysis for up to 1010 receivers, we show the NACK implosion is avoided.
