Content Determination of Total Flavonoids in Various Types of Hippophae rhamnoides Leaves in Shanxi Province

Objective:is to provide the basis for evaluation, developing and utilization of seabuckthorn leaves resources by the studying on the content of total flavonoids in various types of seabuckthorn leaves in different regions of Shanxi Province. Methods: using the UV spectrophotometry to determinate the total flavonoids in seabuckthorn leaves. Results:the higher content of total flavonoid in seabuckthorn leaves are from May to July; the higher regions are Qinyuan and Fangshan. At the same time, it is found that the total flavonoids content of seabuckthorn leaves with the reddish orange fruit was higher than the plants with orange-yellow fruit; the female plants was higher than the male plant generally. Conclusion:The content of total flavonoids of seabuckthorn leaves was the highest in June and Qinyuan and Fangshan may be the Optimal regions for seabuckthorn leaf harvest in Shanxi Province.
