A Method Suited to Extract Total RNA from the Leaves of Hippophae rhamnoides

According to the characteristics of high level of secondary metabolic products In organs of Hippophae rhamnoides such as polysaccharides, polyphenols and crude protein, we used the improved RNAplant Plus Reagent method to extracted the total RNA from Hippophae rhamnoides leaves, and this way was very successful. The total RNA which extracted from Hippophae rhamnoides leaves by gel electrophoresis showed that 28s and 18s stripes were clearly and completely, the point of A260/ A280 and A260/A230 were 1.79 and 1.79, and the average yield of fresh leaves was 298.1 μg/g. This test results showed that the improved RNAplant Plus Reagent measure has the advantage of convenient and quick, high purity, and effectively eliminate the influence of a variety of secondary metabolites. This technique which used to extract total RNA from the leaves of Hippophae rhamnoides can be used for further molecular biology research.
