Artificial Robinia Vegetation Structure Analysis in Loess Area of Western Shanxi Province

Study on the vegetation structure of well developed artificial forest will benefit for new building and cultivation in future. Preliminary investigations were carried out on the mixed forest in the watershed of Caijiachuan basin in Shanxi province, which a large area of artificial afforestation in the ninety's with the broad-leaved forest of mainly robinas and mixed forest by robinas and platycladus. Tree height, diameter of breast- height, crown, and the stem height under branch were measured, within chosen 24 different kinds of sample plots idertified by slope direction, slope grade and forest mixed types. Using the binary volume table, calculate the stocking quantity of sample plots, and the biomass of grass and litter were surveyed at the same time. Through comparing the biomass of grass layer, litter layer and tree layer volume quantity, to determine which mixed forest in different site type planting best.
