Cleavage Interaction with DNA of [CuCl(H_2biim)(H_2O)][Cu(Ida)Cl]·H_2O

A novel aqua(2,2′-bi-1H-imidazole)chloro-copper(II) chloro(iminodiacetato)-copper(II) monohydrate has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography,IR and EA.Gel electrophoresis shows that the complexes can effectively and fleetly cleave plasmid pBR322 DNA with the cooperation of ascorbic acid at physiological pH and temperature and the pseudo-first-order rate constant at 37 ℃ and pH 7.10 is estimated to be 2.67 h-1.
