Interpretation of Modern Education Problems in Terms of "Cultural Capital"

Bourdieu's theory of "culture capital" has produced broad impact in today's world.Cultural capital—informal interpersonal skills,habits,attitudes,language,manner,education level,style and way of life,could be divided into cultural competence,cultural products and cultural labels.Family education and school education are the two kinds of reproduction of cultural capital.Cultural capital plays a shadowing function and can achieve an "alchemy" effect,leading to a concealment of "segmentation" and rationalization of the society.Interpreting classical stories and living issues with the theory can provide us with new perspectives for today's education reform and cultural reconstruction in China.
