Effects of flavomycin on growth and protein digesti-bility of crucian carp

In experiment 1,in order to investigate the effects of adding flavomycin on the growth of crucian carp,315 heathy crucian carps with average weight of 6.5 g were randomly divided into 3 groups and fed basal diet without(control group)or with 4,8 mg/kg flavomycin.After 21 days feeding,the growth rate of fish was significantly improved by adding 8 mg/kg flavomycin(P 0.05),the growth rates were 49.4 %,53.1 %,56.9 %,respectively.In experiment 2,45 crucian carps with average weight of 100 g were used to determine the effects of flavomycin on nutrients digestibility.The results showed that dry matter(DM) digestibilities were 64.4 %,66.8 %,66.5 %,and crude protein(CP) digestibilities were 79.5 %,82.5 %,83.3 %.CP digestibilities were significantly improved by adding 4 or 8 mg/kg flavomycin(P 0.05).
