MICROSURGERY FOR COVERAGE 0F SKIN AND SOFT TISSUE DEFECT AFTER SCAR RESECTION

Objective The skin and soft tissue defects after scar cressction were repaired by using microsurgery. Meth- ods 51 cases of skin and soft tissue defect were treated with free vascularized padical flap.and mussculocutaneous flaps transplan- tation. The average site of scars were anterior chest wall in 2 cases; upper extremities in 23 cases, and lower extremities in 26 cas- es. The size of soft tissue defect was 18cm×18cm. The average size of flaps or musculocutaneous flaps was 20cm×10cm. Re-sults After a follow up study for 1~16 years, all of the 51 flaps and musculocutaneous falps were successful,and the major func- tion of the extremities have been recovered. Conclusion Reparing of the skin and soft tissue defects by using free or vascularized pedical flaps and musculoctuaneous flaps is the most effective and satisfactory method.
