Study on the rheology and the influence factor of low-concentration sodium alginate solution

Objective:Study on the rheology and the influence factor of low-concentration sodium alginate solution;Method:This paper studied the rheological behaviors of low-concentration sodium alginate solution under different concentrations,shearing rate, pH,temperature and stirring time that would affect the viscosity of the solution;Conclusion:Experimental results showed the solution of sodium alginate belonged to shear thinning non-Newtonian fluid. The viscosity was distinctly reduced with its increased pH value, but when its pH value exceeds 6.62, the viscosity of low-concentration sodium alginate solution was stable.The viscosity fluctuated with temperature and it reached a minimum at 70 ℃; increased with stirring time.
