Antioxidative effect of polysaccharides from Boschniakia rossica

The anti-lipid peroxidative effect of Boschniakia rossica polysaccharides(BRPS) was investigated.The total antioxidant activity was determined by ferric reducing method,and the malonyldialdehide(MDA) content of H2O2,Fe2+ or ·OH induced liver homogenate was detected by thiobarbituric acid(TBA) method.The result showed that BRPS exerted an high total antioxidant capacity in a concentration-dependent manner with a regeression equation of y=21.988x+1.1247,R2=0.9996,and concentration-dependently inhibited the lipid peroxidation of liver homogenate and liver mitochondria induced by H2O2,Fe2+ and ·OH.It is suggested that BRPS has the anti-lipid peroxidative effect in vitro.
