A Method to Derive Dynamic Equation of Elastic Body from the Hamilton's Principle

This paper presents a method to derive dynamic equation of elastic body from the Hamilton's principle.The Hamilton's principle is the variational principle underlying the holonomic and conservative mechanical system,so that using Euler's equation,we can write out directly the diff- erential equation for the motion of the elastic body.The advantage of this method lies in that it is concerned only with energy,but not with unknown constraint forces.
