Measurement and design calculation of the iron core of current transformer

In this paper is presented a detailed illustration for a more efficient way to test the iron core of current transformer. In this method, the resistance of the secondary coil is measured for the calculation of the total impedance of the secondary circuit so as to find out the voltage drop of a given current when passing through that impedance.The voltage drop thus obtained is to be divided by the number of turns of the secondary coil in order to find out the induced emf per turn. With both the exciting current and the loss angle of a single turn measured, the design calculation for current transformer of any technical class is finished smoothly.
