THE VEGETATION CHARACTERISTICS IN THE INTRODUCTION AREA OF SAIGA TATARICA Ⅰ. EVALUATION OF CHARACTERISTICS AND SUITABILITY OF PLANT FLORA

One hundred and sixteen plant species were found in a plant inventory in Dongsha wo region, where Gansu Endangered wildlife reproduction center was located. There are 22families, 84 genera, and 68. 97% of them belong to the famillies of Graminee, Chenopdiaceae and Palilonaceae. The main ecological types are: xylophyte. super-xerophyte, medium ther mophilus plant, intolerant plant and psammophyte. The main geographyical compositions are middle Asia and ined iterranean-west ern and central Asia. The flora in Dongshawo is similar to that of the present distribution area of Saiga tatarica and most of intolerant the plants are available for Saiga tatarica.
