THE STUDIES OF CHARACTERISTICS OF GM-CFC IN PERIPHERAL BLOOD

Ma En-pu,Bi Jian-jin,Xiao Pong,Ru Xiao-mei (Institute of Radiation Medicine,Beijing)
The characteristics of proliferation ofGM-CFC from different sources were com-pared using semi-liquid agar culture techni-que.The results showed that under normalphysiological conditions the growth rate ofGM-CFC colonies of blood origin was about1/60 of that from BM.Colony formation atthe early stage of culture was about one daylater in comparison with that of BM.Thenumber of GM-CFC colonies increased withthe time of culture. The rate of increase ofGM-CFC colonies from the peripheral bloodwas 20% of that from BM..The radiosen-sitivity,represented by D_0 value, was 0.34Gy which was lower than that of GM-CFCfrom BM.(0.82Gy) The number of colonieswas markedly increased following the treat-ment of DS.The growth rate become 59% ofthe BM.and so that the D_0 value is 0.72Gy,instead of 0.34.
