RAPID CLONAL PROPAGATION OF SEVEN SPECIES OF CAMELLIA CHRYSANTHAS OF GUANGXI

This paper reports the experiment in tis-sue culture of seven species of Camellia chry-santha series,Theaceae,including: Camellia pingguoensis,Camellia micrantha,Camellia ptilosperma,Camellia pubipetala,Camellia cb-rysantha,Camellia euphlebia and Camellia tun-ghinensis.The different modes of regenera-tion: the embrogensis,the plantlet formation from the pseudobulbils,calli and axillary-buds,were observed as the cultured materials of the seven species were cultured on the im- proved ER medium supplemented the same le-vel of kinin.These results prove that the so-matic cells of Camellia chrysantha series also have the same totipotency as other plants of theaceae.They can develop a large amount of plantlets through various modes of regeneration.It also proves that there is apparently genera-lity in the differentiated conditions and the modes of regeneration in the same genus or family,but some differences still exists.
